　　Look at the map. 看地圖。

　　Look可用作不及物動(dòng)詞、及物動(dòng)詞和連系動(dòng)詞。現(xiàn)將其用法歸納如下：

　　一、用作不及物動(dòng)詞，意為“看，望，瞧”。

　　1）單獨(dú)使用時(shí)，后不跟介詞。如：

　　I looked but saw nothing. 我看了，但什么也沒(méi)看見(jiàn)。

　　Look! Here comes the bus. 瞧！汽車(chē)來(lái)了。

　　Look before you leap. 三思而后行。

　　2）和at連用。如：

　　The teacher is looking seriously at us. 老師正嚴(yán)肅地看著我們。

　　Look at these pictures. How beautiful they are! 看這些畫(huà)，它們是多么漂亮啊！

　　3）和其它某些介詞或副詞連用:

　　a、look after 照看，照料。如：

　　He is old enough to look after himself. 他年齡足夠大，能照看自己。

　　b、look for 尋找。如：

　　I looked for you just now, but I didn’t find you. 剛才我到處找你,但沒(méi)有找到。

　　c、look around 四下環(huán)顧，到處尋找。如：

　　He looked around but he saw nobody. 他四下環(huán)顧，但什么人也沒(méi)看到。

　　d、look back on回想，回顧。如：

　　They often look back on the days they spent together. 他們�；仡櫵麄�?cè)谝黄鸲冗^(guò)的日子。

　　e、look down on看不起。如：

　　Don’t look down on others.不要看不起別人。

　　f、look forward to 盼望。如：

　　We are looking forward to seeing you again. 我們盼望再見(jiàn)到你。

　　g、look into朝……里面看。如：

　　He looked into the box, but he saw nothing. 他朝箱子里面看了看，但沒(méi)看到什么。

　　h、look on...as把某人看作。如：

　　We look on him as our friends.我們把他看作我們的朋友。

　　i、look out當(dāng)心。如：

　　Look out! Don’t hit the tree. 當(dāng)心！不要撞了樹(shù)。

　　j、look over仔細(xì)檢查；翻閱。如：

　　The doctor is looking him over. 醫(yī)生正在給他做仔細(xì)檢查。

　　k、look through瀏覽；仔細(xì)檢查；看穿。如：

　　I have looked it through. 我已把它仔細(xì)地看了一遍。

　　l、look up抬頭看；查；找出。如：

　　He looked up and smiled at me. 他抬起頭，對(duì)我笑了笑。

　　If there are words you don’t understand, look them up in the dictionary. 如果你有不認(rèn)識(shí)的單詞可以查詞典。

　　二、用作連系動(dòng)詞，意為“看起來(lái)”。

　　1）后跟形容詞。如：

　　You look well/fine/healthy. 你看起來(lái)很健康。

　　The teacher looks happy. 老師看上去很高興。

　　She looks pale. 她面色蒼白。

　　2）后跟過(guò)去分詞。如：

　　You look tired; you’d better have a rest. 你看上去很累，你 好休息一下。

　　3）后跟名詞。如：

　　He looks a nice, honest man. 他看上去是個(gè)誠(chéng)實(shí)的好人。

　　4）后跟介詞短語(yǔ)等。如：

　　He looks in good health. 他看來(lái)十分健康。

　　三、用作及物動(dòng)詞，意為“看，瞧，打量”等。

　　如：He is looking me up and down. 他上下打量著我。
